Sorry I know this isn't related to the up and coming cheerleader contest, but I just couldn't wait to say this because this needed to be said.
So recently we got a comment on our groups page.
Now we rarely get any messages like this, well for as long as I been Modding the group I haven't seen any of these messages, but today this caught me by surprise. The only time we really got any complaints from our group is by people who had their artwork submitted to our group, who felt their characters didn't belong to a black women group based on their race and skin color...So we had to tell these people kindly that we were sorry that their work was submitted to our group, but they had all of the power in the world to decline our offer. Instead a few people made a big stink out of it just to prove a point that their characters would or never would be black. *rolls eyes*
Anyways, upon looking at the users gallery above they are an anti black-anti POC DA page. Then I found a group that was solely for white women. I will not post the groups name or information, but these are their simple guidelines.
Only White females in the images!
No tanned skin or tattoos
Keep adult images classy
No fat or obese people
The more pale the better :]
Submit your best works and have fun sharing!
Also I've seen the comments they were getting about their group, pretty much people were pissed off because they felt it was racist, fatphobic, etc. A lot of people disagreed and said that there are tons of groups on DA that only allow POC artwork. The owner of the group even advised a member to come to our group if they thought black women were beautiful too. I chuckled, because out of all of these groups these people think we have, they only could find one, they only could point us out, out of the few. Now don't get me wrong I think we have a good handful of groups dedicated to black women and black people, however we are not being exclusive to be prejudice, well that's not what I think our group is doing, we're not doing any of this to say "Black people are better than white people!" no we aren't even implying such. Our group is to showcase the black art on DA, a lot of people would have a hard time finding black artists, or black artwork on DA through regular search. People would like to see black characters. It's about representation for us. We aren't represented fully and fairly. So there are groups made for that to uplift and empower black people. Let me also mention that it's not only black people looking for black artwork either btw.
A lot of these groups aren't trying to enforce any hate or negative stereotypes. In our guidelines you don't see us saying anything about a certain type of black, a certain color of black, a certain origin of black. No. We know that black women come in all shapes, sizes, skin tones, shit even different places around the world. So in short we are not a discriminatory group and that's what I'm trying to say. All of these pale only white only groups are pretty much problematic in itself because they don't want just white women, they want a certain type of white woman, they want to exclude white women who are tan, who are fat, who have a certain hair color, only European or american, etc. those groups are far from our groups.
If....Now If anyone feels differently towards our group, you have every right to remove yourself from it, you can even block it if you feel any type of way. We're not stopping you, I'm damn sure not gonna stop you from making a decision that can better us. ALSO if we do start to get a bunch of idiotic, Neo nazi, racist comments on our page, they will be gracefully removed and users would be blocked from our page. So they won't hurt themselves trying to carry on their hateful thoughts.
Thank you for listening to my lil message, tell us how you think we're doing btw!

Possible art theft...
Hello all, it has come to my attention that some art has shown up on a website selling art on sheets, shower curtains, pillows and so on.
I've noticed a few that I know and already sent the link to go check.
You can find the site here:

If you haven't given permission then let them know and make em pay!
Thank you,

My Apologies
Hello everyone first of all I would send my deepest apologies to the first place winner of the Cheerleader Contest Oradine. And to my Co-Founder BabyButta. I know I've been away for a long time and I feel so disgraced for it. Life has really knocked me down these past months that I had to change a lot of things in my life financially and family wise. I tend to shut people out when I am depressed and take my anger out on others.
Now things are starting to look up for me and my family Thank You Jesus. My new job is keeping me real busy and another part time job too. The first place winner and I have spoken on her payment just giving me a littl
It's been a long run.
This group has been active for 3 years, a lot of members, a lot of views, a lot of amazing art work of black women. There are so many great members, some you know not so great. We've been through thick and thin, and it's been a ride....
BabyButta (https://www.deviantart.com/babybutta) I am one of the mods of the group, I've been holding the group down for a while now. I don't know if it has been a year yet but it was a interesting experience. The chocolate beauties group was amazing to me, I love that there was a group that had representation for black women. Now it's time for me to talk about the things behind the scenes with the group.
As you may or may not know. There wa

So...Can we not harass the mods on their own DA pages regarding the group? Can we please keep things regarding the group inside of the group? CAN WE NOT DO THIS??!---------> http://comments.deviantart.com/20/12022983/3581958370
I really appreciate when people want to see better things for the group, it makes me want to work harder, because everyone's ideas are welcomed, they may not be applied but they would be heard. Now what I don't like is when people MISS THE POINT OF THE GROUP and decide to take things into full drive by trying to establish some sort of hierarchy, by shitting on the mods completely. I honestly did not understand why thi
